| Click here for: THE DANCE GALLERY DANCE SCHEDULE The Dance Gallery, located at 721 Mechem Dr., is much more than the name suggests. Originally designed as a for-profit studio offering Country and Western, Ballroom and Latin and Bellydance instruction, the gallery has evolved into a non-profit community center that offers low cost activities that fosters’ community wellness and is accessible to everyone. It is an art gallery, dance studio, activity center, recycling drop-off- center, thrift store, meeting space, party space and a place for Lincoln County and Mescalero residents to come together for a healthier community. By understanding that for thousands of years people have used dance and music to come together to celebrate life and share in culture, the supporters of the gallery have organized to construct an environment that supports the philosophy of “being the change we wish to see” by creating activities that promote personal, family, community and environmental wellness. To promote individual wellness activity and a philosophy of loving and developing the self the center offers personal enrichment through dance, exercise and social activities. It promotes family wellness by allowing children at all their activities. The Dance Gallery offers a family activity on Mondays that promotes family interaction, educating participants about health, citizenship, altruism and creativity utilizing music , art, dance, and games to name a few. In addition, the gallery supports community health related activities such as the Lincoln County Health Council’s Weight Loss Support Group and the Domestic Violence/ Sexual Assault Response Team’s subcommittee meetings. The Dance Gallery continues to partner with Team Builders and Sierra Dove and work with developmentally disabled residents in our area. The Dance Gallery continues to support the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts, motion pictures and theater by opening the space for rehearsals, performances and production meetings of Motion Picture Outreach Team (MUDDOG PRODUCTIONS) and the Elevation Cinema Production team. |
