| BIG BAND TEA DANCE SEASON CONTINUES AT THE ALAMO BALLROOM After a highly successful opening day, Bob Burns and the Mike Caranda Big Band Swing Orchestra continues with the series of monthly Sunday Afternoon Tea Dances at the Alamo Ballroom, 820 N. Raynor (take the Piedras exit) in El Paso. Admission is still only $10 per person. The band pioneered a "Tea Dance" (as in: afternoon tea) beginning in 1984 and has continued all these years and features all the ballroom styles such as swing, chacha, jitterbug, tango, rhumba, samba, cumbia, waltz and more and specializes in the arrangements of Mike Caranda for this particular 12 piece band. | Weekend Dance Parties at DANCE UNIVERSE in Las Cruces NM Dance Universe holds dance parties the 1st & 3rd Friday, and 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month. There is a lesson that starts at 7:30pm and is approximately 45 minutes, with general dancing immediately following. Dance to all styles of music including Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Bachata, Country Western 2-step, and more until midnight. Entrance to the dance parties is $5 per person. The Dance Universe Dance Parties are an excellent place to practice your dance skills with a variety of different partners. All ages and all skill levels are encouraged to attend. |
